I graduated from the University of Portland with a bachelor's degree in social work. I am presently attending the University of Washington in Seattle, working toward my master's degree in social work. My experience as a tutor includes working with both elementary school and middle school students to increase their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Reading is the subject I enjoy tutoring the most, because the ability to read confidently helps students in so many ways. My philosophy of tutoring involves customizing the tutoring experience to each student based on their preferred method of learning. I am available to tutor elementary and middle school mathematics, reading, writing, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, American history, psychology, and geography. I can also help students with their study and organizational skills, writing college admissions essays, and preparation for standardized exams like the SSAT and ISEE.In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the movies, watching football, and spending time outside.
