Experience
I've 10 years of experience as a Spanish teacher. During that time I've had the opportunity to work with everyone from children to adults. I attended the University of New Mexico to study communications, and I went into television production, where I wrote Spanish scripts for a travel show. I then went on to earn my master's degree in Spanish in Spain. I lived in Spain for six years, and then attended the City University of Seattle to study education, landing a position with a school district after I graduated. When I tutor students, I like to find out what their strengths are, and what their needs are, and then I adapt my lesson plan to teach the student in a way that works for them. I usually begin with simple exercises, and then we move into grammatical structure. Throughout our sessions, I always bring actual scenarios where students would need to use the language, along with natural speaking. I take global and cultural influences into account, along with diverse vocabulary, to build strong communication and my students. When I have free time, I enjoy classical music, art, running, and cooking.
