Education
I have an MBA, an MS in Foreign Service, and a BioBusiness Certificate from Georgetown University (2016). I also hold a BA in International Affairs and Asian Studies from the George Washington University, where I graduated summa cum laude and was inducted as a junior member into Phi Beta Kappa (2010).
Experience
I have extensive teaching experience especially in writing, Chinese, English, and SAT. I tutor Chinese have English teaching experience, both in speaking and writing, in the US and China. I am the type of teacher that isn't afraid of detours or trying something unconventional if I believe it serves the student's needs. My SAT students have seen their scores raised up to 500 points, many of them now consistently score above 700 on their subject tests. I also am very involved with helping kids prep for college, and take a very holistic approach toward college readiness and application. My SAT scores were 800 (Reading Comprehension), 760 (Math), and 760 (Writing). My cumulative ACT score was 33. My GRE scores were 700 (Reading), 730 (Math), and 5.5/6 (Writing). I am an excellent writer, and have presented many of my essays in conferences. I tutor because I am passionate about the transfer of knowledge. I also believe that the ultimate purpose of knowledge is service, and am involved with philanthropic work and community service. I tailor my sessions based on the needs of the student.
