I am a fluent & bilingual native language Spanish tutor. I have 14 years of experience teaching and tutoring Spanish full-time. I also have taught ESL to Spanish speaking students. I am a native Spanish speaker from South America. I have a Washington state credential for teaching languages. I am considered to be highly enthusiastic and motivating with students of all ages. All tutoring sessions are held in downtown Bellevue, or in Seattle by arrangement. Rate: $50 per hour. * Tutoring children * I really connect in a special way with children in the K-5 age group, and try to make lessons fun. I use games, songs, and visual aids, and an enthusiastic, sometimes animated approach. * Tutoring middle school, high school, and university students * Some people have Spanish classes at school which are excessively large, rigid, and impersonal, and where the opportunity for students to actually speak Spanish in class is limited. I try to counteract all this with one-on-one attention. I study the student's textbook and homework to find out what is being covered in class, and help the student get back on track. In addition to working on grammar, I help the student to enjoy Spanish, resulting in much more progress. * Tutoring adults * My adult students usually want to learn Spanish for personal or professional development. They are not concerned with grades and exams. This allows me to use a more individualized approach. I concentrate more on developing speaking skills, and on what the student wants to study.
